Apple was made by a claim for claims that many of its best Apple Watch models are carbon -neutral, which the plaintiffs say, are “wrong and misleading”.

The lawsuit, which was submitted in the northern district of California on February 26, is said to represent “all people in the USA” who bought the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch SE 2 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.

These are all models that Apple advertises as “carbon -neutral”, a name introduced in September 2023 with the arrival of Series 9 and Ultra 2 and one that was added to the SE 2 introduced the year.

In the lawsuit, Apple's strategy is determined to reduce the total carbon emissions of these products by 75%and to compensate for the rest through “high -quality carbon loans from natural -based projects”.

The two projects mentioned are the source of the dispute. From the lawsuit: “Apple claims that 485,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalents have primarily retired through two unusual projects: the Chyulu Hills project in Kenya and the Guinan project in China.” According to the plaintiffs, the CO2 neutrality claims by Apple are “wrong and misleading”.

“The Chyulu Hills Project claims to create carbon loans by preventing the deforestation on land that has been legally protected from deforestation since 1983,” says the lawsuit, “while the Guinan project claims to plant trees on” stirring country “that started before the project began.”

In the lawsuit it is claimed that consumers have suffered economic injuries and that the products did not buy or did not pay for them if they knew that “Apple's” carbon -neutral “representations were wrong”.

As expected, Apple was not with the specific requirements for the effectiveness and legitimacy of the two projects mentioned in the lawsuit if a discussion that plays in court should be given that the case comes into play and at the end.
