Apple TV+ 'Cape Fear' series shoots in Atlanta with Amy Adams, Javier Bardem

“Cape Fear” follows a happily married couple whose life is turned upside down when a notorious murderer comes out of prison from her past. Adams will play the woman Anna while Bardem will play the murderer. Patrick Wilson, from The “Insidious” film series was also occupied, but its role was not announced.

In a press release, Apple describes the 10 episode series as “tense Hitchcockian thriller and an examination of America's obsession with true crimes in the 21st century”.

The Creator and Showrunner is Nick Antosca, whose showrunner credits include two series produced in Georgia with true crime scripts: Peacocks “a friend of the family” and Hulus “The Act”. Martin Scorsese, who headed the film version of “Cape Fear” from 1991, and Steven Spielberg, an executive producer of the film from 1991, acts as the executive producer of this series.

Adams could be seen in at least four other projects in Georgia: Clint Eastwood's sports drama “Trouble with the curve” from 2012, the HBO mini series “Sharp Objects” in 2018, the biographical drama “Hillbilly Elegey” 2020 and the adaptation “Dear Evan Hans from 2022”.

This seems to be the first time that Bardem or Wilson played along in a large project twisted in the state.

The assembler studios, which were opened in autumn 2023 during the strikes of the actors and writers, have become a font of the activity. It also houses the new CBS soap opera “Beyond the Gates”, the recently published drama “Grand Pointe Garden Society”, the upcoming Hulu script “Murdaugh Murders” and Peacock Crime Drama “The Good Daughter” based on a book by Atlanta authorin Karin Slughter.
