Apple Watch Series 9 Review

I don't go anywhere without my Apple Watch 9. In this way I stay in connection with everything, including incoming calls, messages and calendar memories. It is also great to pursue my activities because I spend a lot of time going outside. I have worn it so much since it was released in September 2023 that I am not sure how to work without it.

After all this time I learned that the Apple Watch Series 9 is a great purchase, with an excellent battery, cool functions and a comfortable fit.

I have used a number of different smartwatches and trackers over the years, and some have a battery life that will not take all day. Even two years later, the Apple Watch 9 lasts me all day and sometimes for a few days when I travel without my charger.

It also offers amenities, not only “nice to Haves”, the top one who uses Apple Pay in the register. (No fiddling with my phone or wallet.) And with the use of my front door or with the route on the U -Bahn feels like a luxury.

Pricing and what is new

The Apple Watch Series 9 currently only costs less than $ 300 for Wi-Fi, and adding GPS + Cellular does not increase the price not so much in the range of $ 300. (I have the Apple Watch Series 9 GPS + Cellular 45 mm.)

The last models had the same processor, but the Series 9 receives the S9 chip, which promises 30 percent more speed and full-day battery life.

The display has twice the brightness of the series 8 and receives a new pink color.

Apple has released a new double -hack gesture for Series 9 and Ultra 2, which controls the primary button in an app without touching its watch. Tap your index finger and thumb twice to punch alarms, stop the timer, answer calls and much more.

It is a cool function, although I often forget that it is an option. Some people felt it essential, while others see it as a sweet gimmick. The only way to know in which camp you live is to spend some time with it.

If you lose your iPhone, you can finally ping it out of your watch. It will show you which direction you have to hand in haptic feedback when you approach.

Theater mode

One of my favorite functions is the theater mode that prevents the screen from illuminating when you look at it or get a notification. Of course it is perfect for films and theater, but it was also useful when I had the jury obligation and had to keep the distractions on a minimum during the certificate.

It switches on the quiet mode and does not make your Walkie-Talkie status available, but you will receive haptic notifications.

Fitness persecution

I use the watch for fitness tracking and try to “close” my rings every day. After a few trips in which my average speed was distorted because I forgot to pause or relax the training during or after a break, I was pleased to determine that you are the automatic break (automatic break) for cycling and running can activate.

In my experience, the clock quickly took action when I stopped at the traffic lights and was resumed when I moved again. (This is also helpful if you forget to end training.)

Who should buy it?

If you have a series 6 or older, it is worth switching to Series 9 because you are probably dealing with a falling performance and a lighter battery. Series 9 prices have dropped since the Apple Watch Series 10 was published. Therefore, there are only a few financial reasons to buy the older model unless you find an incredible sale.

You can use your old watch bands and cases on a newer model, which is comfortable.

If you have an Apple Watch Series 7 or later that works well and has a good battery, there is little reason to upgrade. (The 4 and newer watches can be justified for Watchos 10 if you have an iPhone XS or newer.)

However, the Apple Watch Series 10 was launched in September 2024. However, it has some design upgrades, but you can get many of the same software updates in Series 9 (including the possibility to use Apple Intelligence with the clocks of Series 9 or Series 10). . It is worth carrying out a price comparison before making your purchase.

Whatever your plans are one thing you should know is that if you get an Apple Watch, you should also have an iPhone. It doesn't play well with Android smartphones and is not paired via Bluetooth.
