The island of Manhattan will be green on Monday, March 17th, for the Emerald Isle 264. Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in NYC.

While the parade Is a time for fun, celebrations and everything Irish, if you are sure to celebrate the celebrations, is of the greatest importance. Public traffic authorities advise the hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers, who rise to the big celebration to use the additional service to get there and to follow important rules on the day of the parade.

Here is what you need to know about participating in St. Patrick's Day Parade in NYC

The parade will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. It takes place in the 5th Avenue from 44th to 79th streets and attracts thousands of spectators who see a number of participants marching forward, including musicians, bands, dancers and more.

Arrive there

The easiest way to get to the parade is the U -Bahn.

Take The Lexington Avenue 4/5/6 line, which covers the full parade route. Each station is only a short walk to the 5th Avenue. To reach the Avenue directly, take the U -Bahn to the 5th Avenue/53 Street E/M station. Commuters can also bring the N/R/W to the Lexington Avenue-59th Street or the B/D/F/M to the 42nd Streetant Park or the 47-50 street rocker Center.

Paradeses should note that the stairs to the N/R/W 5th Avenue-59th Street Station In the southeastern corner of the Fifth Avenue and the 60th Street are closed during the parade. During the same time, certain stairs at the 77 Street 6 U -Bahn station will only be “admission” and others will only be “output”.

Traffic routes

During the entire parade, which ends around 4:30 p.m., road traffic between the 44th and 79th street is removed from 5th Avenue. The detours will probably lead to the traffic to float into the nearby streets. Driving to the parade is not recommended.

Due to the Parade route, some NYC buses affected their routes.

Commuters should expect again on the following bus lines: M1, M2, M4, M4, M5, M31, M50, M55, M57, M66, M72, M79 SBS, Q32 and most express buses.

Long Island Rail Road (Lirr) and Metro-North Railroad to add additional trains to the parade

Grand Central Madison leaves Lirr driver near the parade on the East Side Lirr Hub, just a short walk from the starting point of the parade.

There are several travel options available to bring commuters to the parade. The Lirr adds two additional trains west in the Babylon branch and two additional trains in the branch in Ronkonkoma, all of which stop in Grand Central Madison.

Metro-North will operate an additional service at the Grand Central Terminal on the east of Hudson and west of Hudson Lines on St. Patrick's Day.

In the east of Hudson Lines-the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines-Werd Metro-North have five additional trains available to transport commuters to and for the celebrations in Manhattan.

In the west of the Hudson-Linien-Das Pascack Valley and Port Jervis Lines, Metro-North bustle an additional train in every line to transport parade goers to Manhattan.

In the afternoon, Metro-North monitors the return of parade visitors and runs additional trains if necessary.

Alcohol prohibited on commuter railway

Both the Metro-North Railroad and Lirr will be alcohol on all trains and on Monday, March 17th, on Tuesday, March 18, from 5 a.m. from 5 a.m.

Alcohol consumption and open alcoholic containers are always prohibited in the U -Bahn system.
