The Nashville Predators travel to the northeast to stand against the New York insulans, in a matchup of teams that probably miss the playoffs and try to bring dynamics to the 2025-26 season.

The islanders (26-25-7) sit in seventh place in the metropolitan division and achieved a solid 2-1 victory on the street against the Boston Bruins. The 29-year-old goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin was the star who stopped 38 shots. It was not a great year for Sorokin that is currently sitting in the NHL in GAA (2.76) and SV% (0.905) 27. Kyle Palmieri and Alexander Romanov scored the two goals for the islanders, who now have a respectable record of 13-12-5 away.

Nashville (21-30-7) is firmly anchored at the seventh place in the central division and has achieved its own 2-1 victory against the NHL-leading Winnipeg jets and ends its 11-game victory. Filip Forsberg and Tommy Novak set the lamp in the first period, and it turned out that all predators were needed, as the goalkeeper Juuse Saros saved 23 out of 24 shots. The goal was a big problem this season because the 148 goals of the predators place them 31 in the NHL. Forsberg leads the team with 22 goals and 32 templates.

This will be the first of two matchups between the predators and the islanders, with the second game playing on April 8 in Nashville.
