Aschütz Eog meets a new ballast water record book

Hinge Releases a new software version for the Electronic Logbook from Elog, which meets the latest format requirements for Ballast Water Record Books (BWRBS) International Maritime Organization (IMO) recently introduced. Reeder can use this update that ensures compliance with the new IMO regulations, improves operational efficiency and reduces administrative workload.

The new software version of the Hinge Elog contains significant improvements that were expressly developed for the documentation of the ballast water:

  • IMO-compliant format: The updated ELOG fulfills the new structure and data single-gaumer guidelines of the IMO for BWRBS to ensure that the data records are correctly formatted and easy to check.
  • Takeover function: This function automatically transmits information from previous entries, minimizes manual input, reduces errors and makes the recording process faster and more reliable.
  • Tank-by-tank function: The new version contains the required tank-by-tank format, which is automatically generated on the basis of the entries in BWRB.
  • Data validation: The ELOG shows credit and checks on plausible values of the documented ballast water operations.
  • Manipulation-proof security: The integrated blockchain technology ensures that ballast water recordings are safe, unchangeable and transparent and prevent non-authorized changes.
  • Remote accessibility: Shore-based teams can digitally monitor, check and report ballast water operations, which improves the monitoring and compliance check.
