Atlanta West End Shooting leaves 1 dead, power struck

Atlantas West End saw another fatal shooting on Wednesday evening, so that a man was shaken after a number of recently violent incidents.

“A ball hit her window and came through her wall,” he said, describing the close call.

This latest shootout takes place just one week after a double murder in the Oglethorpe Place Apartments, the complex next to the York Avenue, and leaves the neighbors even more.

According to the Atlanta police, a man and his girlfriend were found dead in their apartment during a welfare check.

Family members identified the victims as Marvin Spencer and Henrietta Russell. Spencer's daughter had requested the welfare check after she was unable to contact her. When the police arrived, they found the apartment barricaded and a bad smell came from the inside.

A suspect who was identified as Russell's son was taken into custody after having barricaded himself in the apartment while supposedly holding another person in his hand. He was finally arrested and taken to the hospital with self -inflicted cuts. The authorities believe that he is responsible for the murders and has accused him of false detention while continuing to examine the way of the couple's death.

Maria Spencer, Marvin Spencer's daughter, said her father had become 76 that day.

A sheriff representative of the Sheriff by Fulton County was shot to the latest wave of violence, and in January after a robbery was killed near the Lee Street intersection and the York Avenue in Krispy Kreme.
