AZ Alkmaar against Tottenham Live: Result and reaction of the Europa League, while dark spores defeat to defeat

Postecoglou believes that Spurs can win the Europa League

A strange goal in the first half of Lucas Bergvall brought a lackluster Tottenham Hotspur to a 1-0 loss on AZ Alkmaar in the first stage of her Europa League Last-16.

Bergvall's cut release from a Troy Parrott scored after 18 minutes and turned out to be enough to win a first victory over an English team in 12 attempts.

Spurs had eight days to prepare for this device, but produced a flat display in the Netherlands and only registered a shot on the goal in the 88th minute.

It was a very disappointing performance from the Ver Postecoglou team, especially in view of this competition this season the club's last hope of silverware and her only chance to save a difficult campaign. Tottenham now has everything to do in North London before the second leg on Thursday.

Clock: Vicario produces excellent save

One of the main reasons why it was only 1-0 in the end was a few great parades in front of Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Here was the selection of the bunc

Full time! AZ 1-0 Tottenham

Everywhere in Alkmaar. Really mediocre stuff from Spurs, especially in this first half.

All you can say is that you are still good at just 1-0. AZ should have achieved more than one and they will be disappointed that they do not have control over this draw.

Lucas Bergvall's own goal was the only goal of the game, but Tottenham has to be much better, much better next week in North London next week

One last chance for Spurs, how Porro uses a nice cross from the right touchline, Odobert is increasing, but cannot get over the top and his header is far above the bar. That should be

That really doesn't look good for Solanke. He only returned 20 minutes of his injury.

He is understated and Dane Scarlett comes up. Hopefully a knock for Solanke, but he looks a bit into need when he is getting off.

Az 1-0 Tottenham, 90 minutes

A little late pressure from Spurs when they come again and again. Odober's long -term efforts are pushed away before a weaving of Bentancur, which plays in Porro and plays his cut cross, is passed.

And again Tottenham is looking for the Equalizer, but Johnson's cross is well claimed by Owusu-Moduro, who rattles. The striker looks some pain and he receives treatment – Spurs cannot afford to lose it again …

In three minutes.

Az put space to the left – Moller Wolfe feeds Smit and gray is forced to block the ball and admit a corner.

Koopmeiners takes and it nodded back into the blender before Spurs admits another corner. This time it will be treated immediately

Az 1-0 Tottenham, 85 minutes

Solanke caught Maikuma when he tries to turn the ball over the top.

Spurs really did not create anything clear because they are looking for this equalizer. It was a pretty bland performance
