Back Bay Chick-Fil-A shooting throws security concerns for local NBC Boston

An officer of the Boston Boston shot an armed man on Saturday evening when confronting a chick-fil-a in Back Bay.

The prosecutors in Boston ask someone who was involved in the shootout in the Boylston Street, or as something suspicious in the area saw.

What we know about the shooting of Chick-Fil-A

Michael Cox, police commissioner of Boston, said that the off-duty officer was in the fast food restaurant at around 5:30 p.m. when two people were running and persecuted by a man with a knife, who tried to stab her. The officer identified himself as such and ordered the man to drop the knife.

When the man supposedly did not drop the gun, the officer shot the man. The man was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead. Nobody else was hurt.

“To be honest, I am questioned Boston's general security,” Amara Nweke told NBC10 Boston.

“If you hear that it is, especially in my work area, it is like scary, especially as a woman in the area that only questions me, what questions I have to ask about my schedule? Is that something I often think about in my day?”

According to the authorities, the officer pulled his gun after two people walked to the restaurant, who were persecuted by a man with a knife. Follow NBC10 Boston:

The authorities say, while they apologize for the loss of life, they are glad that violence does not escalate.

“We are not looking for the loss of life. So our condolences goes to the person who was killed this evening,” said Cox. “We are proud of the police officers who activate themselves whether they are on duty or outside the obligation to save lives. But we ask for public support and help, it was a pretty busy area to contact us.”

Neither the non -servant officer nor the man killed were publicly identified. Kevin Hayden, District Prosecutor of Suffolk County, said that the investigators believe that other people who led to what has led to the knife attack and a shootout were involved.
