President Trump replied on Monday to a question about threatening tariffs for US neighbors Canada and Mexico by suggesting that they were “on time”.

A reporter found that a one-month delay in the implementation of this tariff-Die Trump was supposed to impose on the beginning of February-nightly week. The reporter asked whether Trump believed that Canada and Mexico had done “enough” with the USA in their respective borders to avoid the new duties.

Trump has made border security into a key crop point in the conversations.

“We are on time with the tariffs,” said Trump during a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron and added, “We were treated very badly by many countries, not only Canada and Mexicos.”

Trump meandered in his answer and then seemed more generally talking about tariffs, including his plan for so -called mutual tariffs, as he said that they would proceed “on time, on schedule”.

Canada and Mexico, the two largest trading partners in the United States, are faced with the impending tariffs until March 4 on March 4.

According to the report, in which the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “kept in close contact with Trump”, Mexican and US economic officers had discussions last week. The White House said the two guides spoke over the weekend.
