Beta technologies complete ECTOL flights in Utah [Video]

Only weeks after signing an agreement with Utah Aerospace and defense to bring advanced air mobility (AAM) to the state, Evtol and Ectol developer Beta technologies showed the skills of its aircraft through a number of successful flights in three days.

Beta Technologies is a fully integrated electrical aircraft and system developer based in Vermont. It was three years ago since the young company made its first electrical vertical starting and landing aircraft (EVTOL), the Alia -2550.

Since then, this beta ship was renamed Alia Vtol and a piloted test flight with the middle of the air was completed about a year ago. We also looked at a closer look at the five-person interior last October.

In addition to Alia Vtol, Beta has also developed an electrical conventional start and landing level (ectol) as Alia CTOL. It flown tens of thousands of test miles on the way to evaluating flights for FAA certification. As we have reported in the past, this plane is aimed at full approval for commercial operation by 2025.

Beta has completed the first Bonafide production construction of the ECTOL in South Burlington. After a special air conditioning certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the ready -to -production aircraft in November went to heaven for a test flight, which was piloted by its founder and CEO.

Beta has recently signed an agreement with 47G (Utah Aerospace and Defense) about the establishment of AAM operations in the state to work with the Ministry of Transport of Udot (Udot) and the Governural Association for Economic Opportunity (GOEO) in order to identify locations for installing multimodal charging infrastructure and priority attorney and to identify ECTOL arms.

In order to maintain the excitement for their technology, Beta recently completed the paths of Alia Ectol Demonstration in Utah in order to demonstrate the calm, efficient mobility potential of his aircraft.

Beta's ECTOL technology lights up via Utah

Beta technologies shared details of its successful ectol flight demonstrations, including the aircraft, which have over 350 miles to six different airports in Utah. These visits included Salt Lake City Airport, Provo Airport, Heber City Airport, Logan-Cache Valley Airport, Ogden Airport and Airport Vernal.

Beta said that its purely electrical flight technology is not only calmer and more sustainable, but also reduces the travel distance to these airports by two thirds compared to relative drive times. 47g and Udot organized the flight demonstrations together with Beta technologies as earlier works to bring commercial operations into the state. Carlos Braceras, Managing Director of Udot, spoke about the ECTOL technology of Beta and what it means for the future of mobility in Utah:

We move people – and the things they need – more than just streets. These demonstrations are more than just a technological showcase – they represent a fundamental change in our opinion in mobility. The population in Utah grows and we are faced with increasing demands on our floor transport system. We know that advanced air mobility offers innovative new solutions to satisfy our developing mobility requirements.

The Beta Alia can transport up to five passengers at the same time or up to £ 1,250. With a view to the future, the Beta and its new partners in Utah will set up a nationwide electric charge network for aircraft and electric vehicles, create pilot training programs and develop a model for the forecast of flight operations.

The agreement with Beta is part of a broader effort of 47g to integrate advanced air mobility into the traffic sector in Utah through the 2034 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Chris MetTS, 47G project Alta Executive Director, also said:

By integrating the latest electrical aircraft into our mobility ecosystem, we ensure that the highest security standards that progress the medical reaction capabilities and drive the technological innovations that create permanent advantages to the municipalities in the whole state. Utah attracts investments, accelerates the development of critical infrastructure and enables the use of aircraft that make our transport system safe and really multimodal.
