Video doorbells are among the best ways to start your smart home trip. They are easy to use and often easy to install and offer urgently needed monitoring. Although they seem intimidating for beginners, there is an option for video doorbells for almost everyone, regardless of whether they are looking for a budget-friendly option or one that is easy to install.

After testing several options for video turrings, I enjoyed having the latest Lorex 2k Wi-Fi video doorbell. For easy installation, I prefer a battery -operated option, so I received the battery -operated option. It is even more important that Lorex has triggered the typical paid subscription model for a flat hardware fee. Is it worth it? Let us find out.

If you tell you your phone who is at the door in real time and can speak to you if you cannot answer, the door is life -changing, I tell you. The Lorex 2K video ringing does this and more, since it offers a 2K video resolution with HDR, no monthly subscription fees and a battery option with an easy-to-install set of brackets to give you the wish.

Setting up the Lorex 2K video bell was uncomplicated because I decided on the battery-operated model (there is also a wired option). I charged it for a few hours, combined it with the Lorex mobile app and installed the bracket in which I wanted the doorbell. I already have an Eufy Battery video ring, so I set up the Lorex next to it to compare the images taken by both.

As soon as the doorbell is installed, you don't have to worry much. One of my favorite things on this video door is the lack of monthly fees. You can contain your video recordings on the 32 -GB microSD card and unload them if you have to bring your doorbell to charge you. If you use a cable installation, I would replace an additional microSD card from time to time to keep your video doorbell to take up the events that are important to you.

The Lorex app is also easy to use and navigate. You can check your notifications, watch the live feed, change your doorbell settings and check your event history. Lorex is a renowned surveillance camera manufacturer. With the app you can access other Lorex cameras that you may have in one place at home.

The doorbell also contains a person detection that makes it easy to skip false alarms because they are not notified when a spider crawls in the wind over their video camera or the trees in their garden.

The biggest problem with this Lorex Videotürbell is that the picture, although a good quality at 2560 x 1920 resolution, is distorted due to the 164-degree field of view. This would be okay for more affordable doorbells, but one worth almost 200 US dollars should offer a better visual experience.

People can look distorted in the pictures, which is not a big deal if they use the doorbell to see who is on the door, but it bothers me when I look at the recordings. As you can see in the above comparison, my Lorex doorbell shows a stretched picture compared to the screenshot from the Eufy doorbell, as the extended UPS truck shows.

It also does not contain a chime kit, which means that you buy it separately or do without the battery function and use the existing cabling of your house to use your current chime box. The Lorex ChimeBox is available for an additional $ 50 as a small plug-in device that works with Wi-Fi.

Nevertheless, the Lorex 2K video door is characterized by daily. It is reliable on time with real -time warnings when someone is on the door and is seamlessly integrated into Alexa. Therefore, we receive notifications from our echo devices when someone rings the doorbell. It also has a small LED light that occurs in the dark when they approach it.

The built -in LED is an underestimated feature and one of my favorites. It is helpful if you arrive at home in the dark and can use some brightness to find your keys. I also like that it could deter intruders if the light is switched on when the camera recognizes movement.

Even if I am not a big fan of the wide -angle image that it captures, I like a few things about them Lorex 2K battery video doorbell. The battery has overtaken my Eufy battery doorbell in the past few months and only has to be charged every two months.

The LOREX 2K battery -door ring is available for 180 US dollars and is the perfect video doorbell for everyone with a Lorex camera system in your house. It is also an excellent replacement for a ring video doorbell because you can enjoy many of the same advantages without paying for a subscription. You can also choose the wiring installation to use your existing chime and to expand the internal memory with a microSD card (up to 256 GB) to bring it to the next level.
