Duffy completed the District -3 2A championships with a gold medal -his third of the weekend -for the 100 -breast by resetting his own bishop McDevitt School record in 56.54. Trinity's Josiah Garber caught bronze in 1: 02.06.

“You come to the meeting, you have to have motivation for yourself, but also set the standard for yourself,” said Duffy. “If you get in and just like 'I have to try to beat my time', you can't try, you have to do it every time. Every time you step on this block, it's just me and the watch. You just have to have this motivation for yourself. “

Duffy's latest 100 breast title came after repeating himself on the opening day of the swimming championships of District 3 as 200 in (1: 55.47) and 200 Free Relay (1: 30.44). This 1: 55.47 brand in 200 was also a school record for Duffy.

The bar can only be increased so much, so Duffy said that he has District 3 records in mind when he returns as a senior next year. Matthew Raudabaugh (Big Spring, Bucknell) has the Breast Record of District 3 100 at 56.22, while David Nolan (Hershey, Stanford) claims the 200 -M record of 1: 49.64.

Duffy, together with Bradley Warner, Ian Shyk and Omar Lara, ended the District 3 2A championships by producing a silver finish in the 400 Free Squadron in 3: 20.91. The Schuylkill Valley used gold with 3: 13.38 gold.

“Our team was very good. We have a lot of young children in our team, so I think they are developing all of this well, ”said Duffy. “This is just a good development, so I think that it is a big step for our team for our team.”

After a run of seven consecutive District 3 2A team titles in a row, Bishop McDevitt's young team took third place with 221 points. The Schuylkill Valley earned the top bill behind 320 points and Boiling Springs was the second-placed with 221 points.

“We see them and we like, okay, that's our goal,” said Duffy about the title of Schuylkill Valley. “To see how qualified they are, that only urges us to get even better. I think that is a great motivation for us to be dominant at Bucknell. “
