Boy, 14, accused of a flood of thefts and criminal damage

A boy was charged after a flood of theft and criminal damage.

The police received reports of several thefts in shops in New Forest and Southampton.

Hythe Marina and the nearby Lidl were also damaged at the beginning of January.

Yesterday, the officials arrested a 14-year-old boy from Hythe after an examination of the incidents.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with criminal damage and theft.

He was released against a deposit for conditional deposit to appear on the SouthaMton Youth Court on April 14th.

The fees refer to incidents of theft at Tesco Express in Dibden Purlieu on October 26, 2024, John Lewis in Westquay on December 10, 2024, Welcome Store in Marchwood on January 23 and a station in Hythe on February 20.

He was also charged with criminal damage in Whitefield Road, New Milton, Hythe Marina and Lidl in Hythe.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “Our team will continue to work hard to tackle anti -social behavior and crime in their community.

“I encourage you to report such an incident so that my team is aware of and can take measures.”
