Breaking: Massive fire boys in Roxbury Sunday morning

The Boston firefighters fought against an 8-alarm fire in a large garbage transmission station in Roxbury on Sunday morning.

The Boston fire brigade said that around 150 firefighters were on site in Boston.

The fire in the Gerard Street was reported around 8:30 a.m.

The garbage transmission station accepts material from construction sites.

Paul Burke, fire brigade commissioner of Boston, ordered all firefighters from the building due to the dangerous conditions.

“You have wooden products, you have asbestos, you have Wallboard, you have all these things you separate, and then send it to other facilities to recycle it,” said Burke.

Burke said the fire was included in the building, but he asked the neighbors to keep their doors and windows closed because of the strong smoke.

Burke said that an evacuation in the neighborhood was not necessary, but he asks drivers to avoid the area.

No injuries were reported.

Said Burke with all the material in the building, the fire could burn for days.
