Brian Schottenheimer Tips Cap to Mike McCarthy after taking over the cowboys trainer

The Dallas Cowboys were set up in 2025 for a restart after they continued from Mike McCarthy.

After five seasons at the top, McCarthy and owner/General Manager Jerry Jones decided to separate McCarthy's contract. The team went the long -time NFL – and most recently the cowboys – as their next head coach Brian Schottenheimer.

Before his first NFL scouting combine at the top, Schottenheimer was asked whether McCarthy had taken over the takeover of McCarthy. He gave a unique perspective to take rule:

“Mike is an incredible coach,” he said on Thursday. “I'll put on my fingerprint [the Cowboys]Sure, but Mike is a great coach. Mike and Jerry [Jones] Had a lot of hard conversations and it didn't work. But I will never talk about Mike McCarthy in any way, but will keep him to the greatest degree. He is one of my best friends in football. A great coach, a great mentor for me. And he will soon be on the side. “

A really cool answer from someone who essentially had to take over for their dismissed boss.

Schottenheimer also gave Russell Wilson and the Seahawks a funny allusion during its availability of media, but that's irrelevant.

The cowboys -after a 7-10 season in 2024 -with a (hopefully) healthy quarterback in DAK Prescott, number 12 in the NFL design and almost 4 million dollars at the salary limit.
