Bridge City Fire displaces the residents, destroys several residential units

Bridge City, Texas – A fire in the Southern Oaks Apartment Complex in Texas Avenue had several inhabitants displaced and damaged or destroyed eight units on Thursday afternoon.

A man helped save his family members from the burning apartment complex.

Tielor Carpenter says it started in his apartment and devoured the door, the roof and the walls within seconds. He says he didn't hesitate to rush into and save his wife, his mother -in -law and his baby.

Bridge City Fire Department Crews reacted to the scene and demanded the backup from the fire brigades West Orange and Little Cypress.

Smoke and flames came out of the roof when firefighters worked to unveiled the fire.

The investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

The emergency crews remain closed in southern lanes from Texas Avenue.
