Brookland teen with autism sees fear with a dog in the viral video

Brookland, Ar- (Jonesbororightnow.com) -28. February 2025-a autistic teenager from Brookland stood with a Labrador mix called Gunner, with the video of the interaction, which accumulates over 1.9 million views on Tikkok.

According to his mother Cheyenne Godding, the teenager, the 17-year-old Brodey Herman, was always afraid of dogs. Although the family had two other dogs, Herman can still not be in the same space with them due to his special needs. She explained that he cannot deal with her bark and hyperactivity.

When the new dog crept into his room, Godding didn't know what was to be expected.

“One day Gunner appeared in our house,” said Godding. “We didn't really think about it here. We have a community of dogs. They all hang around and come and go, and it's not really a big deal. So we really didn't think so much about it and just let him hang around. “

Although he told the dog that he should go home, he stayed three days and nights outside of her house. Godding said Herman noticed the dog but never interacted with him.

Godding was looking for the neighborhood to find the owner of the dog, who seemed “less than enthusiastic” when she met with them. The owner told the dog's name, Gunner. This was followed by Gunner Godding home and has stayed there since then.

“The thing is that it goes out. He can go home at any time if you live in this area. He just doesn't. He only stays with us here, ”said Godding. “So we slowly let him in the house at this time.”

Then Gunner decided to be friends with Herman, she said and noticed how she watched from the kitchen when the dog made the hallway down into Hermann's room.

“I was on my phone and saw him go to Brodey's room,” said Godding. “I was afraid that Brodey would really annoy himself because he won't leave the other dogs in his room. The thing was that we don't know this dog yet and this dog really doesn't know us. So he went to Brodey's room, I ran down the hallway because I said: “Oh god”, but I looked in there and brodey sat on his bed like music and he didn't freak out at all. I said, 'It's different. So it is very different. '”

Godding said she decided to record the moment to see what happens. It describes the beginning of the interaction because the two are a bit unsure, but this shooter was calm and patient with Herman.

“Brodey's arms are somehow intertwined at the beginning of the video. He works through it, but then Brodeey makes a little boop [on Gunner’s nose] And you see him smile, ”said Godding. “I like my god. ' Because this is not a child that has something to do with dogs. [on Gunner’s head] And leaves it, you can see his body language. You only see that the calm comes over him. “

Godding said she decided to publish the video on February 2 on Hermans Tikok page that she created to spread autism awareness. When she posted the video for the first time, Godding said that the site had about 80 followers and there were only a few videos.

“I didn't take it very seriously. It was only when I got a cool video of us that did something or something funny from him, I would post it, ”she said.

The video “blew up,” said Godding. At the time of the publication, Hermans Tikok page of Chroniclesofrodey grew to 4,484 followers, and the video had over 1.9 million views.

Godding said the video spread all over the world and she received messages from such a worldwide, including the United States, Norway, Malaysia, South Africa, Ireland, Australia, Russia and Canada.

“This is a minute and 40 seconds so that people feel something really good, just like two pure souls come together,” she said. “I have the feeling that we are bombed from everywhere where you look, every perspective with negativity in this world and in this life. So I had no idea that it would touch the number of people it had. “
