Remarkable

Volumes of one of five remaining uninspired

Tennessee is the series of this weekend against St. Bonaventure as one of five remaining unbeaten team in the baseball of Division I. The other four are Alabama (14-0), Florida State (13-0), North Carolina (13-0) and West Virginia (12-0).

Opportunity for a record start
Long victory strips to start a season have become commonplace under head coaches Tony Vitello. The 13: 0 of UT starts the third time since 2019 that the year has started with a double -digit winning streak. The Vols also won their first 13 games in 2020, a year after they had set up a program record by winning their first 15 games in 2019. A sweep this weekend would set a new program record for successive victories to start a season at 16.

Dominance of the weekend series in the non-conference game
The Vols have not lost any non-Conference weekend series of the regular season since 2020 (Wright State) and have swept 16 of their 18-season weekend series of the regular season since 2020.

Kilens weekly award

Gavin Kilen was awarded for his monster week by appointing Golden Spikes Award National Player of the Week and the SEC player of the week on Monday. The Junior -infielder lowered .611/.667/1,611, scored nine runs, drove in eight runs and collected a total of 29 bases in four games last week. Seven of Kilens 11 goals for the week went for additional bases, including five homes. Kilen ended a single short circuit of the cycle on Saturday at the 13:3 win of UT against Rice and went with two homers, five runs and four RBIs 4: 5.
