Bulloch County Fire to add new stations

Bulloch County, Ga. (WTOC) – From July 1, the residents of Bulloch County, who live with five miles from the city limits of Statesboro, will receive full fire protection in front of Bulloch County's fire brigade for the first time.

The five-mile fire district contract was concluded to fight the fire brigade of the city of Statesboro within the 5-mile circumference outside the city of the city of Statesboro.

This was because the fire brigade fire brigade was usually a smaller volunteer organization without the right resources.

Now that it has grown and fully established, the district called for an end to the agreement six months ago.

“We have no destiny there in which we can build infrastructure in the five-mile distribution,” said Ben Tapley, fire chief of Bulloch Co. “So, as the fire brigade, I felt that we had to have this provision where we now can look into the future. ”

The county originally proposed to share the district with the city in half.

After the negotiation, however, the decision was that the district's fire brigade would now take control of the entire district of five miles.

“We always want to do it better,” said Tapley. “You know that we have added full -time employees from 2020 and register through Brooklet, Portal and now and simply add these new stations that are located in and around the five miles.”

Ben Tapley, fire chief of Bulloch County, has a plan for the district for the construction of several new stations within the district.

For the residents, this also means a slight increase in house insurance rates due to the ISO rating between the departments.

“You are a second class; The city of Statesboro and we are four, ”said Tapley. “So that means that you have a small difference in the costs between two and four, but everything we did, and the research that we have made very minimal.”

According to Chief Tapley, the district's firefighters are ready for the change greeting more soil.

“We look forward to being able to offer this service and I hope you are very satisfied with the service we offer,” said Tapley.

Chief Tapley says that they are planning to be fully occupied by July 1.
