Bureau County History Center announces 2025 schedule – Shaw Local

The Bureau County History Center in Princeton announced its exhibits and events for 2025.

The portrait exhibition in the Newell Bryant Museum of the Bureau County History Center is open to the public until July 26.

Soldiers, teachers, farmers, writers, judges and lawyers – are selected – everyone who called Bureau County Home.

The first floor of the Clark Norris House is also open. Find out the history of the Clark-Norris family and see your beautiful original 1900 at home.

The events are as follows:

  • April 14 April 5: Exploration of Avanti Foods. A collaboration with the New Walnut Historical Society, The Rock in Walnut
  • 1:30 p.m. May 3rd: ISHS moderator – Kristan H. McKinsey “Research into local history through the life of the artists”, Prairie Arts Center
  • May 12th to 17th: Sash Stalter Matson Open House.
  • June 21: Children's event Sash Stalter Matson Building North Lawn
  • 2 p.m. July 12: Celebrate the 170th Bureau County Fair with Kathy Bauer, Prairie Arts Center
  • July 26: Last day of the portrait exhibition/NB Museum ends until September 4 for restoring.
  • August 14th: Bucky Halker, “Down in the Mine: American Coal Miners & Your Songs, 1890-1960”.
  • August 20 to 24: The registry center for historical center on the Bureau County Fair
  • August 21: Business after hours, SSM
  • September 4: Henry Immke exhibition Openens, NB
  • 27 p.m. September 27: K. Hamilton-Smith/Postcards Presentation, Prairie Arts Center
  • October 25th
  • 5.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. November 13: 2025 Annual Conference Bureau County Metro Center
  • 13.-16. November: Peter Cook in cooperation with La Salle County Historical Society, several locations
  • December 12th to December 13th: Day of Leisure Day in Clark Norris Museum
