Byron Donalds, supported by Trump, says that he is running for Florida's governor

The Republican US representative byon Donalds announced on Tuesday that he would enter the race around 2026 to succeed Florida Governor Ron Desantis, who cannot get any further term in office after eight years.

Donalds enters the race with the confirmation of President Donald Trump. Donalds was a frequent Trump replacement and was on the short list last year to be his vice presidential run.

Donalds praised the governor on Tuesday and said he had done an “enormous job for our state”. When Donalds spoke to Sean Hannity in Fox News and did not deal directly with the speculation about a Casey Desantis run, his Trump confirmation and his records in the elected office found.

“Byron Donalds would be a really big and powerful governor for Florida and, if he decided to have my complete and total confirmation,” the president published on Thursday on his social media website. “Run, Byron, run!”

Donalds, one of the best -known black republicans of the state, would be the first African American to act as a governor if he wins.

Donalds and his wife Erika Donalds have earned the call to transform public education and to lead more taxpayers into private and charter schools. As a former member of the district's school authority, she heads a company that supervises charter schools and a virtual academy.
