Byu football closes the first Scrimmage of Spring Camp

The BYU soccer program ended the first Scrimmage of Spring Camp on Monday. The scrimmage took place in the Lavell Edwards Stadium and consisted of around 90 games. The BYU head coach Kalani Sitake met with the media to discuss the scrimmage and provide updates at the Spring Camp.

“I thought it was a back and forth,” said Sitake who won the day. “I mean, offensive has had their moments and the defense their moments so that they were balanced in the overall performance … I thought the boys did a great job. To be honest, I think we are further than we do. That we say there is still some space for improvements, but I like the way the boys work together.

While it is still early and it is still sorted out position battles, Sitake believes that BYU will have a “really good team” in 2025. “We start to see that we have a really good team,” said Sitake. “It's just about who will make the first snapshots. [the players] I just bought what we want to achieve as a team is the key. And a lot has to do with the leadership we see from the players and the leadership of the upper class is amazing. I really like how you take over the possession of this team and how to hold each other's account. “

According to coach Sitake, Jake Retzlaff took all repetitions with the crime of the first team. Treyson Bouruet and McCae Hillstead shared the repetitions with the crime of the second team.

“You are looking for who gets the valuable repetitions with the two. At the moment we have a situation in which we can keep them balanced, but at some point we have to choose one.”

Sitake says the fight for the backup job will “carry in autumn”. “The truth will be attributed to who will get the valuable backup repetitions if we fall because it will be the type in the game. Therefore I think that the competition will lead to autumn, but must be determined quickly, and if we feel that there is a clear winner from spring, we will do it.”

Sitake says that the depth diagram comes together and that he has the feeling of specifying a 1.5-Seeep. The goal will achieve 2.5 at the beginning of the season. “We want to see a few different lineups with running backs and recipients. So I feel really good when we are 1.5 of our depths. With many of our and half of two, we only have to do this to 2.5 in the season, and I think we are tight to build it.
