Calera -A new video advertisement table will stand in the coming football season thanks to the efforts of the Calera High School Football Booster and the support of the Calera City Council at the Calera High School.

During a regularly planned meeting on Monday, March 17th, the Calera city council unanimously approved a resolution in which the construction of a Daktronics video indicator table in the Ricky M Cairns Memorial Stadium was approved for construction and installation. The total cost of the project is around 350,000 to 400,000 US dollars.

“We definitely thank the mayor Graham and our city council for their support,” said Calera coach Scott Rals.

The remaining costs of the project are paid by the Calera High School Football Booster, who want to secure a Central State Bank loan, which are repaid by sponsoring commitments from local companies with several anchor partners that have already been signed. According to the booster, they plan that the loan will be paid by 2030.

“We are only very happy that the city supports the program as always in the community,” said Loren Richardson, President of the Calera High School Football Booster.

The new video indicator table should start building within the next 10 to 12 weeks in order to be completed in good time for the football season in autumn. The new video display table is located on the other side of the field opposite the current scoreboard and is visible on the Highway 25.

With the new scoreboard, the Booster Club not only provides an updated presentation of scores during the games by selling advertising and using its display for a variety of extra -curricular events such as the completion or for the orientation of film nights in the city.

“This is more than just a scoreboard for our children.” We think our children deserve it … I think it will be great. “

In other shops, the Calera City Council approved the following during the meeting:

  • Solution that passed police guidelines, media relationships, electronic mail, use of departments of social media and administrative communication
  • Solution to the contract for professional technical services
  • A resolution that approved legal steps against a taxpayer for unpaid taxes

The next regularly planned Calera City Council meeting will take place on Monday, April 7th, at 6:30 p.m. with a working session before 5:45 p.m. in the town hall
