Campbell County Commissioners OK Boys & Girls Club Financing, Listen early lead -scholarship request request

Gillette, Wyo. -The Campbell County Board of Commissioners addressed an application for emergency financing of the Boys & Girls Club of Campbell County on Tuesday and checked a scholarship application for the early head program during their regular session.

Brittney Locken, Managing Director of the Boys & Girls Club, requested 11,350 US dollars to finance 11,350 US dollars from the district's 1% fund for the 2024 to 2025 financial year. According to curls, the financing is of essential importance to convey scholarships for families that the club's tuition fees cannot afford to ensure that all children have access to a safe environment before and after school.

“We use all funds in our county 1% funds to provide our children with scholarships, and in February last year we also raised the tuition fees,” said Locken. “Since then we have received 18 proposals.”

Commissioner Jim Ford asked about the number of children and families the club served. Locken reported that the Boys & Girls Club currently has 560 active registered members with an average daily participation of around 220 in five locations. Of these members receive 55 scholarship financing, which includes 100% of the costs for one year. The club also plans to expand its services to Wright in autumn.

Locken lifted the club's increased fundraisers and said they expect that they will collect around 109,000 US dollars this year, which gathered a significant increase compared to around 30,000 US dollars in previous years.

The commissioners unanimously approved the request.

Former -lead start -start allowance application

Nathan Grotrian, Executive Director of Children's Developmental Services, and Stephanie Stevens, Early Head Start Manager, presented the application for her five -year scholarship cycle. Grotrian said that although it is a five-year subsidy cycle, the early lead is obliged to submit annual applications for a sequel. Stevens said the goal of Head Start and Early Head Start was to prepare children for later success in school and to support healthy and well -supported families.
