Campbell River called a top trend -domestic car in Canada: Airbnb

Since the Canadians are increasingly looking inwards this spring, especially in view of the country's learned relationship with the USA, Airbnb has published a list of the best domestic goals in Canada, and a municipality in the middle of the island has created the list.

According to Airbnb, the city of Campbell River is one of the 11 trend destinations for domestic trips this year and it is the only BC city that creates the list.

“When the snow melts and the spring captures, the Canadians put closer to short vacation at their home,” said Airbnb in a press release on Tuesday.

Campbell River is about 265 kilometers north of Victoria by car and is known for its outdoor activities, including fishing, whale observation and hiking – as in the nearby Strathcona Provincial Park.

The website's data is delivered at an interesting time for short -term rentals in British Columbia.

In May 2024, the BC government introduced its new short-term rental rules that limit short-term accommodations there, including on popular platforms such as Airbnb and VRBO.

The new rules only allow people to short-term rentals in their main residence, an attached secondary suite or accessories in their main property-according to the BC government in order to free the housing in the province.

This year, everyone who runs a short -term rent must also register their property in the province and pay an annual registration fee from May 1, 2025.
