Can the strategy of the California workforce help combat forest fires?

To help formerly detained firefighters, the California Ministry of Forest and Fire Protection (CAL Fire), the California Conservation Corps and the California Ministry of Corrections and Rehabilitation with the Anti-Recidivism Coalition Coalition have worked together to develop an extended fire fighting program in VTURA Training Center (VTC) (VTC). In 2018, VTC began training and providing wrapping aids (life kills training, re-entry planning, record denial) that took part in the detained fire fighting. This program gives cadet qualifications for fire service positions with local, state and federal fire fighting. With over 25 programming facilities, the program has completed 467 firefighters over the course of its program for the willingness in training in the second chance. Participants in the program have a three -year relapse rate of less than 10 percent compared to the nationwide relapse rate of 40 percent.
