Captain Buttler wants

The English captain Jos Buttler does not have the feeling that he only has limited options in bowling, but wants his bowlers to pursue the limits that facilitate the pressure on the opposition to Australia in the Champions Trophy in Lahore.

Josh Inglis achieved an unbeaten century when Australia in England followed a total of 351-8 to achieve an exciting win of five Wicket at their campaign start, with English quicks Mark Wood, Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse bleeding the most runs.

Spinner Adil Rashid was the most economical of the bowler for England, while Joe Root and Liam Livingstone also cleared the required rate of more than seven pro over under Australia.

“I didn't feel briefly at all. No, we liked the team's balance with which we went with.

“I just think you have to crank the opposition sometimes. I thought Josh Inglis played fantastic innings.”

England had pressure on Australia, with the 50-over world champions lost two early gates, but the game turned upside down when Inglis and Alex Carey built a 146-year partnership for the fifth Wicket.

“I thought there were a few phases in the game in which we really thrown in partnerships, and we starved them from the borders and that created opportunities,” said Buttler.

“A few times I just tried to find a way to reduce this limit on the over, and at any time at which the pressure came, they managed to play a really good shot or get away.

“I think that is always a focus for me as a captain and this is a bowling unit, only ways of how we can limit this additional limit in the over to press the display board pressure up there.”

England will play in his second game of the group B Afghanistan on Wednesday.
