CARE Fire's rescue driver in Terryville

Terryville, CT (WFSB) – The crews received reports about someone who is caught in a car fire on the East Plymouth RD. Saturday around 11 p.m.

During his time in the scene, the police informed the firefighters that the vehicle was involved in a rollover accident and caught fire. The police also said that spectators tried to save the driver.

On the arrival, the authorities confirmed that the driver was freed from viewers and was in their care.

Firefighters said that the car had been turned over, fully on fire and rested against a telephone mast while another broken pole hung over the street.

Firefighters said they were working quickly by the fire, but their efforts were affected by a broken fuel tank and the electrical battery in the fallen car.

According to the fire brigade, the fire was brought under control after 25 minutes.

The driver was evaluated and brought to the hospital with minor injuries, the authorities said.

Eversource and Frontier were informed about the damaged power supply rods. Terryville's public work department was appointed to sand and salt after the fire brigade's efforts.

East Plymouth around the night was over and closed until Sunday morning.

The crews finally replaced the scene at 1 p.m.

The Terryville volunteer fire brigade department thanked the spectators who saved the driver because they may have prevented a much worse result.
