Carolina Forest Fire remains 30% because smoky conditions remain

Smoking conditions exist in Carolina Forest on Monday morning, while the crews contain the 1600 hectare fire.

According to the Horry County Fire Rescue, “heavy, low -hanging smoke” is the visibility of Carolina Forest.

Officials stated to avoid Carolina Forest Boulevard's area if possible if opportunities work for public security authorities.

The South Carolina Forestry Commission estimated Sunday evening that the fire had burned 2.5 square miles, with 30% of them.

International Drive will be closed in front of the fire gates from Sunday.

Officials said the drivers should plan to use alternative routes on the motorways 501, 22 and 31. The law enforcement remains in the area until these streets are completely opened again.

So far, no structures have been succumbed to the fire, and no injuries have been reported.

A state of emergency was explained on Sunday evening.

Evacuations and where to go

Evacuation orders were lifted on Sunday evening. However, some accommodations are still in operation.
