HCS said Sunday that based on Horry County lifting its evacuation order for the fire, all schools in the attendance area will operate on a normal schedule on Monday.

“We recognize that many students, their families, and staff may still be affected by the wildfires,“ the district said in its announcement. ”We are committed to being flexible and working with each individual on a case-by-case basis tomorrow. If you or your family are experiencing challenges due to the fires, we encourage you to reach out to your school to discuss your specific circumstances and needs.”

HCS said it is keeping an eye on the situation and is staying in contact with county officials for updates. The district also extended its thanks to the first responders working to battle the fire.

Coastal Carolina University

CCU said Sunday that there are no changes planned for campus operations on Monday.

Students and employees impacted by the fire and evacuations are asked to work directly with professors and supervisors to account for absences. The school said impacted faculty may activate their academic continuity plan as needed.

Horry-Georgetown Technical College

HGTC also said it plans to operate on a normal schedule Monday but is monitoring the situation. The school noted it understands road closures and evacuations may require some flexibility.

“We encourage faculty and staff to support students and colleagues who may need adjustments during this time,” HGTC said in a Facebook post.

Students needing assistance are asked to communicate with faculty, while employees are asked to reach out to their supervisors or cabinet members.
