Casper Fire-Ems department increases the staff from 18 to 20

Caber, Wyo.-after Casper Fire-Ems received a grant of almost $ 1.8 million from the Federal Administrative Authority, Casper reports that you are using this money to increase your daily minimum staff from 18 to 20 people.

This emerges from a publication of Casper Fire-Ems, in which it was found that the increase in staff will take place this summer.

“This progressive step improves the reaction skills of the fire brigade and
Offer the firefighters who serve this community an additional level of security, ”says the publication.

The increasing staff from 18 to 20 years enables the fire brigade, five engines, an ambulance, a driver's car and a battalion base position 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Oil City News previously reported that the scholarship is used by USD 1,766,610 to cover wages and advantages for two fire service positions over three years.

“While the ambulance and the driver's car are at least 18 employees of 18 employees, which means that two firefighters both truck employees,” says the release. “This forces you to prioritize the unit needed at the time of shipping, and does not leave the other devices in the ward unobstructed and unable to react to emergencies. The increase in the minimum personnel from 18 to 20 employees solves this problem by ensuring that the ambulance and the ambulance are always made available with the staff. ”

The approval states that this step was made possible due to a common effort between Casper Fire-Ems and the Casper Firefighter's Union Local 904, which hands over and approves the executive team of the city of Casper and the city council of Casper.

After the three years that the scholarship grants, the city of Casper will cover the costs of the employees.

“In addition, we would like to emphasize that the personnel for adequate fire and emergency reaction (safe), a Federal Grant Program by Fema, was decisive to allow this change in the context of the current economic climate,” emphasizes the release. “The safer grants share the costs of these new positions in the first few years and enables us to plan and budget expenses over a period of three years instead of simultaneously. Many federal grants like this are of crucial importance for state and local infrastructure and operations. It is important that we recognize these positive effects that the safer grant on our community has. ”
