Celine Songs 'Materists' Sets June 13th published by A24 – World of Reel

Here is an interesting development. A24 set up a nationwide theater publication for Celine Songs “Materialists” on June 13. Is this film skipping festivals?

The film, in which Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal play the leading role, follows a young, ambitious New York matchmaker, which is torn between two men, including their imperfect ex.

Songs “Past Lives” was not only a Sundance sensation, but also took the best picture at the Oscars. Which film song will be hit next with a lot of anticipation, especially by critics who praised “earlier life” wildly.

In short, based on several people I have spoken to, “materialists” who were shot on 35 mm are “just not as good as” past life “. The cut shown last year was rough and they definitely had space to tighten it and make it better. Nevertheless, it sounds like a likeable and accessible film.

“Materialists” were described as “Hitch” when it was written by James L. Brooks. Johnson is said to be outstanding as a workaholic matchmaker who has to confront with what she wants out of love. It should really have good chemistry with Pedro Pascal (also very good) and Chris Evans.

What seems to be “materialists” is “commercial attraction”, and that makes sense in view of the release date during the thickness of the summer film season. It strives to be a kind of Romcom that is not really done these days, unless they count the terrible ones that Netflix seems to be released every month.

This is a fairly risky film on the part of the song that merges from “Past Lives” to what sounds like an unlanded RomCom territory. It doesn't sound as if “materialists” get the same recognition as “Past Lives”, and maybe what does song is by being an easier matter.
