Change of the date for scan's learning from clouds with Jill Nichols workshop – The Newtown Bee

The one-day scan workshop “Learning from Clouds with Jill Nichols” was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances from 8th to Saturday, March 29th.

The class still takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (on the flag mast).

Painters of all skills are invited to register. The costs are 105 US dollars ($ 85 scan members) and the class size is limited. It is recommended to bring a bag to noon.

Register until March 22 at scanart.org/education. After this date, the artists are asked to call Adele Moros under 203-744-7690 in order to register and prepare a check before the workshop.

The painting of Nichols examines both the earth -bound and the external expansion of the divine cosmos. Her color and compositional sense has developed over 30 years over 30 years.

She acquired her bachelor's degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder. In 2000, she concentrated on painting in the first training session in the Art Students League in NYC. In 2015 she earned her MFA in painting at Western Connecticut State University.

The painting of Washington DC, commissioned, appeared as the background for James Comey's interview in “Face the Nation”, while another appeared in the mini series “The Comey Rule” by Showtime.

Her monumental work of art “Phi”, an 8-time 3-foot painting over copper, which the divine female celebrated, was part of the social movement of the “evil woman” in New Haven. It is now installed in the Vatican Observatory Museum.

In the one-day workshop, Nichols clouds give their due and lead the students to study and create cloud structures using subtle values ​​and colors.

Nichols will show in oils and watercolors, follow individual lessons while the students create their own cloud studies. This workshop is suitable for all levels and media.
