Chemical leak in Framlingham Pharmacy closes the Town Center Road

Rescue services that report on a chemical leak in a shop stated that there was no leak, but a number of bottles were removed for disposal.

Firefighters were called to the basement of a pharmacy in Market Hill, Framlingham, Suffolk.

After an investigation, it was found that no spill had occurred, but a worker complained of the feeling of being uncomfortable after containing a basement with a series of bottles.

The pharmacy was evacuated as a precaution and a cordon was set up before the crews with respiratory protection devices entered the basement to carry out checks with a gas monitor.

No leaks were identified and the scene was declared safe.

The shop worker was taken to the hospital with the ambulance to check precaution, together with another employee who also complained about the feeling of being uncomfortable.

The examination was completed at 13:50 GMT, said the fire brigade.
