Chillicothe Police examines shooting

In the early morning hours of March 2, 2025, the Chillicothe Police Department initiated after a shooting event that led to a person being taken to the hospital.

Around 2:11 a.m., the officials were made aware of a shot victim that was brought to the Hedrick Medical Center. The victim identified as 18-year-old man received medical treatment for injuries. The extent of these injuries was not released. Criminal charges against the hospital person are still pending and will be submitted at a later date. A male acquaintance of the victim was brought from the hospital to the Chillicothe Police Department, where he was then taken into custody.

During the examination, the chillicothe Police Department officers carried out a traffic stop that led to the discovery of evidence in connection with the shootout. The driver of the vehicle and her child were brought to the Chillicothe Police Department, where the child was later released to a family member. Several law enforcement authorities answered assist, including:

  • Livingston County Sheriff's Office
  • Missouri State Highway Patrol

After the first examination, the officials carried out a search command in the 400 block of the Walnut Street in Chillicothe. As a result, an adult woman and an adult man were brought to the Detention Center Caldwell County and set in 24-hour stay until the following charges:

  • Illegal use of a weapon (RSMO 571.030)
  • Manipulation with physical evidence (RSMO 575,150)
  • Hanging up a child's well -being (RSMO 568.050)

A vehicle that is assumed that it is connected to the incident was secured as proof of this and is processed by law enforcement officers. The authorities say this is an isolated incident, and the examination remains active and continuous.
