Chlorine leak, identified on the Collie Heated Swimming Pool, surrounding streets closed

A chlorine leak was identified on the Collie Heated Swimming Pool.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services published a general warning for a gas leak in Collie near the intersection of the Throssell Street and Stere Street South on Sunday at around 7 p.m.

Chlorgas are available in the area and firefighters are on site to contain the leak.

The gas is blown in a west direction, which may affect the residents of the area.

The affected area is limited by Forrest Street, Lefroy Street, the Coalfields Highway, David Hay Street, Venn Street East, Venn Street West, Jacaranda Loop and the Wellington Boulevard and the surrounding areas.

The Throssell Street between the beginning of the city and the Lefroy Street, the Ben Street and the Forrest Street were closed.

The residents were asked to stay in the smoke or steaming, whereby the doors and windows were closed and air conditioning was switched off.
