CHP officers shoot and kill suspects after Chase ends in the Winnetka district

Winnetka, Los Angeles (KABC) – Officers of the California Highway Patrol shot a suspect early Wednesday morning at the end of high-speed tracking in a Winnetka district, the authorities said.

The CHP started watching a man around 2:30 a.m. to drive a vehicle at 2:30 a.m. The chase made itself in a dead end in the 7200 block of the Sunnybrae Avenue, south of Wyandotte Street.

Monitoring video showed that the vehicles involved have recorded the sound of several shots. The suspect was declared dead at the crime scene. He was not identified immediately.

The authorities confirmed that the suspect was fatally shot, but declined to discuss what the chase and the shootout prompted.

“We are amazed, we don't know,” said the grandmother of the late man, who refused to name her name, in an interview on site. “He drove his father's work car. He lent it to visit his cousin.

“You have a variety of family, Samoan tonan, in the valley,” she said. “They were all together. He was on his way home. His app showed his daughter on my daughter's phone that he was at home. Immediately afterwards they heard the shots.”

According to the grandmother, the authorities told her that the suspect was armed with a weapon when he was shot.

“So where did you see the gun and how did it happen? We don't know,” she said, adding that it was difficult for her to believe that her grandson swung a weapon. She said that he had never become known as a troublemaker or violent.

Sergio Garcia Sergio Garcia said that the Los Angeles Police Department's robbery will help the shooting examinations.
