Church in Franklin reopens after the fire 4 months ago – Boston News, Weather, Sport

Franklin, fair. (WHDH) – St. Mary's in Franklin will welcome the parishioners on Saturday, four months after the outbreak of a fire in the back room of the church.

The bells in the almost 150 -year -old church rang out loudly, and nobody is more excited than Father Bob Poitras.

“I look forward to the parishioners, I look forward to our community. That we all love so much, we can use them again, we can be at home again, ”said Father Poitras.

Feuerer investigators found that the fire that the suffocating smoke sent through the building was deliberately determined.

The workers give the final repairs of $ 1 million to the church.

John Ristaino has been baptized and a member of the church for decades.

“It was a long four months ago and it is exciting to be back,” said Ristaino. “Soon to be back in our main bin and put all parts together.”

On Saturday, the parishioners gather for the trade fair, which is together by Boston's Archbishop Richard Henning.

“Now that we are towards the end, we have our main church back, life is being normalized again a little,” said Poitras.
