City of Owens Cross Roads swears by the new fire chief

Owens Cross Roads, Ala. (Waff) – The city of Owens Cross Roads swore in a new fire chief on Tuesday. Chef Bruce Swanson is now officially the head of Owens Cross Roads Fire and Rescue.

Swanson takes over the job with decades of experience. He served as a paramedic and supervisor for Hemsi and district fire brigade for the Huntsville fire brigade.

Swanson was part of the team that contributed two years ago to create Owens Cross roads.

“I am very happy to end what we started with the former boss before he left us and retired,” said Swanson. “I am very happy to end what we started and run the fire brigade for the citizens of the city of Owens Cross Roads.”

Chief Swanson will hold this position until the next local elections if the new council could decide to keep it or hire a new boss.
