The top seeds of the SEC -Frauen -Basketball tournament fell on a coin toss.

Both the Texas Longhorns (29-2) and the South Carolina Gamecocks (27-3) ended the regular season as a co-champions with a 15: 1 record in the second game. The Longhorns and Gamecocks divide the season series, which means that the No. 1 seed in the Sec tournament would be due to pure happiness. The SEC Commissioner Greg Saney carried out a coin flip and landed on South Carolina's emblem, which means that GameCocks achieved the SEC tournament for the fourth time in a row.

“A lot of respect for our conference. The Southeastern conference is the best conference in the country,” said head coach Dawn Staley after South Carolina's 78-66 victory against Kentucky on Sunday. “Getting another conference championship of the regular season means a lot, because they won't get by very easily.”

South Carolina has won the SEC tournament four of the past five years. The SEC Division as a whole has won the NCAA tournament in the past three years South Carolina, 2024; LSU, 2023; South Carolina, 2022.

When is the schedule for women's Sec tournament?

The SEC women's basketball tournament will take place from March 5th to 9th at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville. The SC selection on Sunday follows on March 16. March Madness taps on March 21st.

The SEC women's basketball tournament is broadcast in the Sec Network, ESPN and ESPN 2. The first and second round are only displayed in the Sec Network. The first two quarter -final games are shown on ESPN, while the last two quarter -finals will be in the second network. The semi -final games will switch to ESPN2 while the championship game will return to ESPN.
