Clean space, clean mind: tips for spring cleaning + tricks

The time has come, boys … The days are getting a little longer, it gets warmer, the sun is shining and flowers start to grow back, spring comes! What comes with spring? Cleaning!

After one 2011 Princeton Neuroscience Institute StudyPresent By removing disorder, the brain can concentrate on elements and tasks individually. A clean room enables the brain to relax and not to feel overwhelmed by its surroundings. It helps to regulate your emotions better, feel less stressed and anxious, and in times like this when midterms approaches and everything feels out of control, you can regain this control and take on a breath.

So there are a few tips and tricks here, from me and some other students in Georgia Southern to get your start!

General tips:

  • Fang small
    • If you look at everything at once, it can be extremely overwhelming. So first start with the smallest task and go from there.
  • Be realistic with your time
    • Things don't happen at once and things don't always happen in an hour or day, but progressive. Make sure you determine realistic goals and expectations for yourself and your cleaning skills.
  • Sometimes cleaning does not mean deep cleaning
    • Sometimes it means that they pick up their clothes from the ground and vacuum, that's okay !!

Georgia Southern Students Dylan Patton, Nathaniel Mooney, Kaitlyn Muni and Elizabeth Ruder share specific tricks:

  • To clean your ceiling fan, wrap a towel around the blade to wipe it off without chaos.
  • Keep a cleaning toothbrush for window traces, traces of door and difficult to reach.
  • Magical eraser is your best friend for dirt and structure.
  • Olive oil is very suitable for cleaning stainless steel.
  • A towel with water and essential oil for a really well -smelling room and wipe your walls with it.
  • When it comes to cleaning clothes, it is best to get rid of clothing that you have not worn last season/3-6 months. Regardless of whether it donates, sells or simply packs away until you need it next time.
  • Use baking powder and hydrogen peroxide to clean the Further.
  • Use white vinegar to get water stains out of your toilet.

Well, that's all for now, I hope this will help you start cleaning !! I send you my best wishes!
