Clemson lands the top 15 in the first ESPN College football -SP+ rankings


An early look at what one of the most respected projection models says about Clemson Football in 2025.

The College Football season 2025 is still over six months away, but as the Dehards of Sports know, there is no idea as a low season.

The future looks bright for the Clemson Tigers after the quarterback Cade Klubnik recorded an outstanding year under Garrett Riley in the second year in 2024. In his junior season, Klubnik threw 3,639 yards and 36 touchdowns on six interceptions.

Since Klubnik and the second recipient Antonio Williams played at Elite Levels and the newcomers Bryant WESCO and TJ Moore had promising debut seasons, Clemson's passion was temporarily electrically. On Thursday, ESPN revealed its initial SP+ rankings for the 2025 season (subscription required). Bill Connelly lists the three most important ingredients in SP+ rankings as returning production, the latest recruitment and recent history.

ESPN's first College Football SP+ rankings for Clemson, ACC -Rival

The tigers check in 11th place in Connelly's SP+ rankings with an overall rating of 18.8. From this time, Clemson is five places and a place behind LSU and a place before Texas A&M in Connelly's ranking. The offensive evaluation of the Tigers of 37.8 is good for eighth place on the list, while its 19.0 defensive evaluation is 21.

Eight ACC teams made the first top 50 in SP+ rankings. The Smu Mustangs, which Clemson defeated in last year's ACC championship game, were seven places behind the Tigers in 18th place. Jeff Brohms Louisville Cardinals were No. 22, and Manny Diaz 'Duke Blue Devils were No. 39.

Virginia Tech, Bill Belichicks North Carolina Tar Heels, NC State and Georgia Tech also broken the top 50 in the first ranking of ESPN. Outside of the ACC, the rival South Carolina was in 16th place among the Tigers.
