Clock: Pakistan lay on the global stage! Gaddafi Stadium roofs before the semi-finals and the mismanagement of PCB unveiled

New -Delhi: The second semi -finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will take place on March 5th in the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore between South Africa and New Zealand. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) claimed to have spent almost 500 crore Pakistani rupees for the renovation of the stadium, the completion of which lasted over 100 days. However, recent incidents have exposed the poor condition of the stadium and raised questions about the demands of the board of directors.

Heavy rain reveals the weak preparation of PCB

On February 28, a decisive game between Afghanistan and Australia was planned at the Gaddafi Stadium, but had to be canceled due to heavy rain. The PCB had no proper drainage arrangement shocking, and even the entire floor was not covered, which led to excessive water logging. This lack of preparation caused PCB embarrassment, with fans and experts criticizing mismanagement.

Now another problem has arisen – a viral video on social media shows how water in the stadium leaves from the ceiling of the bathroom. One spectator conquered the film material and revealed how rainwater dripped from the roof while several other fans were seen. This incident further bent the call from PCB, since the renovation project should ensure better infrastructure and facilities.

500 crore claim from PCB under control

The PCB had extensive renovation work, including new seating agreements, improved floodlights and additional infrastructure. However, the recent incidents show that either the renovation was incomplete or poorly executed. With an important semi-finals in the Gaddafi stadium, the concerns about the condition and maintenance of the stadium have increased.

This situation not only disappointed cricket fans, but also put PCB under pressure, since aligning such a prestigious tournament requires first-class facilities. The International Cricket Council (ICC) can also take note of these problems because they affect the quality of the event.
