Sleep arrangements: “Cuddle the cuddly time”

When detectives disappeared from Maddie in the night, detectives Hecks asked about the sleep arrangements.

Detective: “So what are the sleep arrangements?”

Hecks: “(Maddie) usually sleeps with her in her mother's bed.”

Detective: “Did she sleep in her bed on Sunday evening?”

Hecks: “Uh no … I was just back because I was gone for a few months and she (Maddie) wanted us to all be in the same bed together. Her mother had to sleep seriously, so she said no to this and suggested that the guest room had a big, fat bed and (Maddie) was a bit sleepy, and this room would sleep (Jennifer -Soto).”

Detective: “You say cuddly time. What does that mean?”

Hecks: “Uh (Maddie) does not like it alone. She is extremely dependent. She needs people … Present around her.”

According to court documents and interviews, Jennifer Soto, Maddie's mother and Stephan Sterns said that it was not unusual for Sterns and Maddie to sleep in the same bed. Before Maddie was missing, Stern's detective said that Jennifer asked Soto Maddie to leave her room because she didn't feel good – and had to sleep.

Hecks: “I'm one of your favorite people.”

During the interview, Detective Stephan Stern asked to describe his relationship with Maddie.

Detective: “How is your relationship with her? “

Hecks: “Great. I am one of her favorite people in the world. Although she is not meat and blood, I always loved her as if she was my own.”

Detective questions whether Heck's photos of him have on his cell phone

Towards the end of the interview, Detective Heck asked if he had photos of Maddie on his cell phone. He told them that he “accepted” and quoted Walt Disney World, where the two made selfies. Since then, detectives have been accused of explicit photos of 60 cases of sex abuse, some of which were involved in Soto, allegedly found on his cell phone and in a Google Drive account.

Detective: “Do you have pictures of (Maddie) on your phone? “

Hecks: “Well, I'll take on.”

Detective: “Do you have pictures of yourself and (Maddie) on your cell phone?”

Hecks: “Probably … I mean we went to Disney and made selfies on the train … hmm all possible pictures of family events. I'm not as much as a shortbug like her mother … but I take her every now and then. ”

Detective: “Any other pictures?”

Hecks: * Shakes the head no* “No.”

Hecks asks if he should contact a lawyer

In another moment in an interview, detectives tell stars what they supposedly found on his cell phone. Sterns had previously given his cell phone to the detectives to support their search, officers said.

Detective: “Here I will be brutally honest with you. There are pictures of you and (Maddie) on your phone and I am pretty sure you know what these pictures are. You are a very intelligent person and I don't want you to discredit yourself by saying that you don't know all the images that make your phone phone calls. You understand what I say?”

Detective: “So you would like to add the list of pictures?”

Hecks: *Breath deep* “…I don't know.”

Hecks: “Should I talk to a lawyer now?”

Detective: “I can't answer this question. My purpose at the moment is to see if I can find where (Maddie) … and I really hope you can help me.”

Hecks: “Ok, I would like to try to help, but I have the feeling that I should probably be present at this point.”

Stephan Sterns is detained and sought
