The CFP management committee, which consists of the 10 FBS commissioners and the sports director of Notre Dame, discussed the potential change of sowing for the 12-team CFP in 2025 and removed automatic byes for the top four of the best conference champions.

In addition, a potentially expanded CFP model in 2026 could contain a 14-team field with 13 offers that are automatically distributed on teams based on the conference stands, which would be far less important to the committee. It is expected that decisions about these potential changes will occur at some point this year.
