College sports: MCC softball leads through rivals to start the schedule for home (27.02.25).

North Platte -The McCook Community College Softball team opened on Wednesday with a Doubleheader -Sweep at the North Platte Community College. MCC won 10: 0 and 22: 6, with both victories in five innings.

“We played pretty well everywhere,” said MCC coach Mike Mendenhall. “We restricted the free passes and had only a few mistakes defensive.”

Sophomore Anna Elliott (Calgary, Alberta) hit two homes in game 1 and drove in four runs to support a combined no-grille of Freshmen Pitcher's Pitchers Paige Warren (Victoria, British Columbia) and Olivia Pollon (Tisdale, Saskatchewan).

Sophomore Lexi Knapp (Berthoud, Colorado) set up in game 2 and the last two frames when MCC scored 19 goals from the newcomer Kaliyah St. Amand (Duncan, British Columbia), who was three years old.

“We saw a lot of girls who play many different positions. We couldn't do that with all the cancellations, ”said Mendenhall. “It was a good day for us to prepare for a difficult schedule.”

These were the first games of the season for the knights. These two teams should play in McCook on March 27.

MCC improves to 7: 1 and 2: 0 in the NCCAC. Next, the Lady Indians in Kansas are on the slate for the Lady Indians with two against the Kansas City Kansas Community College (0-0) on Friday at 1 p.m. and two games on Saturday from 1 p.m. at Highland Community College (1-1).

On March 12, the team added a home dattern date with the Dakota College on March 12th. These would be the first home games of the season for MCC in Jaycees Sports Complex.

Game 1 – McCook 10, North Platte 0: Paige Warren led the second with a walk, stole the second and scored an expired third blow. With two outs, Anna Elliott met a Homerun with two runs to Centerfield to bring MCC 3-0.

The first three batters from MCC went to lead the second. Sophomore Rocio Mascorro (Brownsville, Texas) set a two-time single in the middle and two outs in the second year Kaylee Smith (Calgary, Alberta), who gave a 6-0 advantage in Mascorro.

Fourth in the MCC after a knighthood, Elliott blew a Homer with two runs into the right middle to increase MCC 8-0. Freshman Cassidy Fenske (Gibbons, Alberta) got a new rally to the right. Smith followed with an RBI single. A single from Sophomore Ayana Goodwin (Broomfield, Colorado) put the runners on the first and third and a walk. With two outs, Smith scored for the 10th MCC run with a passed ball.

Warren threw the first four innings for the Lady Indians, she did not allow a goal, went one, struck a blow and excluded 10. Olivia Pollon threw the last inning and withdrew all three of the rackets with which she was confronted and struck one.

MCC played a flawless ball on the field and had 12 hits in her five at bats, which were led by three goals and four RBIs by Eliott and two goals by Fenske and Smith.

Game 2 – McCook 22, North Platte 6: The Lady Indians scored three runs in the first inning and added six runs in the second and third inner sings.

Sophomore Laila Gutierrez (Seminole, Texas) offered a double with two runs in the second and Peytann Weiland (Aurora, Colorado). Three walks and a costly north plate error led to four runs in the MCC fourth.

Neuling Olivia Moorhead (Hershey) started the game in a circle for MCC. She threw 1,2 innings, allowed four goals, three walks and five deserved runs with a strikeout. Sophomore Sadie Kahl (Calgary, Alberta) scored 1.1 Inning and scored two goals and no runs with two strikes.

Lexi Knapp threw the last two innovations and entered the impact with a Homerun with two runs in the MCC Fifth, which highlighted a three-run in. Knapped a run with a hit, two walks and four strike outs.

MCC had 19 goals in the game with the newcomer Kaliyah St. Amand (Duncan, British Columbia) with four. The Lady Indians received three goals from

Gutierrez and Weiland, who had six RBIs in the game. Freshman Payton Kinsley (DidSbury, Alberta) and the newcomer Audrey Reeves (Sterling, Colorado) both had two goals.

The Lady Indians stole 10 bases in the game.
