Colorado Rockies' Kyle Freeland ready to set up Franchise record as the opening starter

Kyle Freeland has been a main support on the rotation of the Colorado Rockies for almost a decade, and that won't change in 2025.

Colorado Rockies Manager Bud Black informed the reporters on Sunday that Freeland would start against Tampa Bay Rays on the opening day later this month. The fourth opening day will mark the beginning of Freeland's career and its second in a row.

Through three Cactus League start in spring Freeland 1-0 with an ERA of 2.79, 1.241 whip and 11 strikeouts in 9.2 Innerings.

Freeland did not go very well on the opening day in 2024. He gave 10 hits, a walk and 10 deserved runs in 2.1 work against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The left-hander went with an ERA of 5.24, 1.412 whip and 0.0 war in 21 starts last season 5-8.

Freeland took second place in the war, the second in starts, third place in Innings, fourth place in strikes, the fifth victories, sixth place in the ERA and the ninth place in the history of Rockies Franchise. Since the seventh NL rookie of the year 2017 in and fourth in 2018, NL Cy Young Voting chose, Freeland has had a 5.00 ERA and 97 ERA+.

The way it looks, Freeland and Germán Márquez are on Colorado's all -time population with three opening days per piece. Freeland will take up the top position as soon as he occupies the hill in the first game of the 2025 season.

The Rocky Mountains had none other than Freeland or Márquez on the opening day since Jon Gray did this in 2018.

The first place between the Rocky Mountains and Rays on March 28th is planned for 4.10 p.m. Shane McClanahan will take the bump for Tampa Bay.
