Convised double killer by El Salvador, which was arrested after 3 deportations in New Jersey

New York-a convicted double killer from El Salvador was arrested in New Jersey for “illegally entered re-entry to the United States”, the public prosecutor said.

César Eliseo Sorto-Amaya was custody on Friday by the federal authorities in Elizabeth, according to a statement by the US public prosecutor in New Jersey. Ice Agents found him on the veranda of a house at an address that was made available by the law enforcement agencies in El Salvador, where he is charged with double heavy murder.

Sorto-Amaya was convicted in absence on April 24, 2024 and sentenced to 50 years in prison. No further information, including specific details on the crime, was provided.

The 28-year-old suspect also has a long history of deportations that go back to 2015. In February of this year he was arrested by border agents in Texas and returned to El Salvador on March 3, 2015.

Sorto-Amaya was deported again after crossing ice cream in October 2016. At that time he was behind bars in Elizabeth and was finally convicted of illegal possession of a weapon. However, he was shipped home after the criminal complaint before he could be convicted.

He was arrested again the following year and sent back to El Salvador for the third time on August 26, 2017.

While Sorto-Amaya is unclear that Sorto-Amaya returned to the United States, the authorities of El Salvadoran turned to ice last month and on February 12, she made it aware of his potential presence and recent conviction, according to the criminal complaint.

Sorto-Amaya took place in Newark, New Jersey on Friday, to his first court appearance, although it is not clear what measures were taken, if at all.
