Corpse in the forest area arranges the investigation for death examinations in NW Indiana

A death examination is underway in the northwest of Indiana after the body of a man was discovered in a forest area on Sunday.

What we know:

The police officers of St. John together with a private corpse dog team searched for a 41-year-old man on Sunday who has been missing since January 28th.

A K9 officer found the body in a heavily forested area near the 6300 block of the W. 101st Avenue in the department of the sheriff in Lake County in Lake County.

The authorities have also restored a firearm from the scene, but further details were not published.

What we don't know:

The identity of the missing man was not announced.

It is also unclear whether the remains belong to the missing man.

What's next:

The Department of the Sheriff of the Lake County examines the case and the Coroner's Lake County will identify the remains and determine the cause of death of the man.

Fox 32 Chicago has contacted the forensic doctor's office in order to obtain further information, but has not yet received an answer.
